Fáilte, Welcome, Bienvenue!
My name is Seán Thomas Kane. I am a Chicago Irish writer living in Kansas City, Missouri. Currently, I am Ph.D. Candidate in History at Binghamton University, SUNY, in Upstate New York. I study 16th century natural history. Congrats on finding my blog. You can find my academic website here with more information on my peer-reviewed publications and upcoming conferences & lectures with information written in English, Irish, and French.
This website is now used entirely for the Wednesday Blog, which as the name suggests is published every Wednesday morning North American time. I’ve been writing the blog with only a few breaks every week since March 2021, so there’s a long back-catalog of blog posts you can choose from on the Wednesday Blog Archive. The blog is also available as a podcast, as of December 2021. That podcast is distributed by Spotify and each blog post since that date should have the podcast episode at the header for you to listen to while you read, or in lieu of reading if you prefer that. I do recommend listening to the podcast, there’s the occasional song or ditty in there that I don’t include in the blog’s text. I’ve said since I started writing weekly that I’m going to keep writing for my blog as long as it’s fun. So far, that’s been the case. Happy reading, and please share what you read with your family & friends.
